ABOUT THE CLUB

We are a broad mix of people of all ages and from all walks of life.  All with different reasons for being a member.

Our meetings are held every other Monday, September to May, unless Bank Holidays intervene.

We meet at The Wycliffe Rooms, George Street, Lutterworth LE17 4ED. Parking available at the rear of the building (£2), and on George Street Public Car Park (a short walk, but free after 6pm).

Arrive around 7:15 for a 7:30 start.

Check our dates for the season on our Meeting Dates page.

Lutterworth Speakers Club is part of the National Association of Speakers Clubs (ASC) and one of a group of clubs in The South East Midlands area.

On Sept 4, 2023 the club hosted a FREE Seminar on Public Speaking:  free

WoofLutterworth Speakers Club were in stitches recently… Allan Heggs, Club President, gave his speech about living a dog’s life. He dressed like a dog, acted like a dog and at times sounded like one too. Very creative stuff – and well done to Allan! If you don’t believe that PUBLIC SPEAKING can ever be fun, come along and see for yourself.  Laughter is guaranteed!

In April 2023 one of our members competed in the National Speech Evaluation competition.

In February 2023 one of our members won the SE Area Topics competition

In October 2019 one of our members won the Area Evaluation contest.

In November 2019 a team of 3 members won the Chatterbox Team Speaking trophy.

In November 2018, two members of the club won the Area Speech Evaluation competition and also the Area Topics competition – is there no stopping Lutterworth?

In October 2018, Lutterworth Speakers Club participated in and won (yet again!) the team speaking Chatterbox Competition – what an outstanding team!

In September and October 2018 Lutterworth Speakers Club members were pleased to attend for the second year running, the Sir Frank Whittle Studio School, to provide input to Year 10 and Year 12 students.

In September and October 2017 and again in 2018 we helped Year 10 and Year 12 students, at the Sir Frank Whittle Studio School, appreciate the basic rules of public speaking and got the chance to hear very many of them give first class presentations!  Well done to them all!
