More success for Lutterworth Speakers!

Allan Rimmer and Sue Hanger were winners in the recent annual South-East Leicestershire Area Evaluation Contest and Topics Contest.

Allan won for the best evaluation of a speech by David Ridgeon, from the Barwell Cedars Speakers Club, entitled ‘The Nightmare of Supermarket Shopping’, a theme any of us could identify with.

Sue won for her impromptu speech on the topic of ‘Ride’.  This one-word topic challenges the contestants to think on their feet, and Sue took us round the British Isles, notably to the Isle of Man and the Isle of Wight, with her train-loving husband (who had to buy a Ticket to Ryde and thus got the biggest laugh of the evening).

Many congratulations to both, who go on to represent the Area at the District round of the contests on Sunday March 24^th 2019.
